QUESTION: How many phases of filmmaking are they?

According to some industry experts, there are eight phases to making a film. (see below)

I would say it is less because several of these steps can be merged into one step.

Here is my list

1. Development
2. Pre-Production
3. Production
4. Post-Production
5. Distribution

those 8 are about it. You can merge them into 5, but the 8 point out the different kinds of expertise needed.
