How Many Pages Should a TV or Feature Script Have?

by Peter D. Marshall on May 26, 2008

The average length of a feature film script is fairly consistent. But television scripts vary in length because of the many different styles of television shows. Each one requires a different format – and thus a different page count.

Here are the average page lengths of North American television and feature scripts.

1. Half-Hour Commercial TV (22 – 35 pages/Average – 28)

2. One Hour Commercial TV (50 – 65 pages/Average – 55-60)

3. Two Hour Commercial TV Movie (100 – 110 pages/Average – 105)

4. Feature Film (90 – 120 pages/Average – 110)
