VFX Breakdowns: 10 behind-the-scenes looks at how incredible effects were created for Hollywood films

It seems incredible, but this summer’s crop of blockbuster movies is likely to be even more numerous than the last few years.

In fact it’s meant to be the biggest ever year for so-called tentpole movies, crowding in to 2015 in a battle for audiences at multiplex cinemas.

As well as the return (hooray) of Star Wars, there’s Mad Max: Fury Road, Jurassic World, Pan, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Mission Impossible 5, Spectre (aka James Bond 24), Fast and Furious 7, Ant-Man, and many more. Not forgetting of course The Avengers: Age of Ultron, which due to a plethora of leading characters has crowding issues all of its own.

All in all there are 35 tentpole films slated in 2015 that could bring in $6.6 billion of box office receipts, according to a report on MyersBizNet.
